Quiet on Cross Street Adoration this Tuesday, November 30, from 6-7 p.m. will be dedicated to a national prayer campaign to promote the right to life for pre-born babies. On December 1, the Supreme Court will hear the Dobbs v. Jackson case. In 2018, Mississippi enacted the Gestational Age Act, which bans all abortions after 15 weeks, which is much earlier than the current viability standard established by Roe v. Wade. Currently, a baby is considered viable (able to survive outside the uterus) between 24 and 28 weeks gestation. This law has been challenged in federal court. Mississippi is asking the Supreme Court to either overturn the constitutional right to abortion or to allow states to ban some pre-viability abortions. At times like these, we are always called to remember that God alone can bring about the true justice, peace, and love of His Kingdom, so we turn to Him in prayer and ask that He look on us and our nation’s children with mercy.
