 Fr. Jim Deiters has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Thomas University in St. Paul,   Minnesota and a Master of Divinity from Mundelein Seminary in Chicago. Ordained in 1991, he has been pastor of St. Clare since 1996. In addition to his primary role as pastor he also serves in the diocese as a consulter to the bishop and is on the committee for priestly formation. He also serves as vice president for NOCERCC, a national organization that works for the ongoing formation of priests in the United States. His human interests involve weightlifting, running, gardening, and cooking. He really enjoys getting to know parishioners through welcoming receptions he has for new parishioners as well as being invited over to people’s homes for dinner!  Contact:  jamesdei@sbcglobal.net


Fr. Von C. Deeke is the Associate Pastor. He has a Master of Divinity from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in Saint Louis. He was ordained a priest in 2003 and has served at Saint Clare since July 2008. He is also the Diocesan Liaison to Seminarians and International Priests as well as a member of the diocesan committee for ongoing priestly formation.

Cheryl Sommer is Director of Adult Faith Formation and Social Justice Outreach. Her job responsibilities include overseeing Christian Initiation of Adults and all adult education programs including Bible study, CRHP, JustFaith, and small faith communities. She also oversees our parish's numerous outreach and social justice ministries including legislative advocacy, our sister parish in Guatemala, United Congregations of Metro-East, pro-life, and other works of charity. Additionally, she is a ministry supervisor for Aquinas Institute of Theology and a facilitator the LIMEX program for those pursuing a masters degree in theology. She has been on the pastoral staff at St. Clare since 1998. She has a Master's Degree in Religious Education from St. Meinrad School of Theology. Sister Carolyn McWatters
is the Director of Liturgy & Music and a member of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. She has an MA in Theology from St. Michael’s College and an MDiv from Aquinas Institute of Theology. Sister Carolyn is responsible for all liturgical preparation, including directing our three choirs, and she oversees the training of all liturgical ministers.
