Confirmation Written Assignments – St. Clare Parish

Letter to the Bishop

--       Date the letter.

--       Address the letter to:

Most Rev. Edward K. Braxton, Ph.D., S.T.D.
Bishop of Belleville
222 South Third St.
Belleville, IL 62220

--       Start the Letter, “Dear Bishop Braxton,”

--       In the first paragraph, introduce yourself. Tell the bishop about who you are and why you are writing to him – to request the sacrament of Confirmation.

--       In the second paragraph, share something about your faith that is important to you. It could be a story, or you could tell the bishop what is your favorite part of your Catholic faith. You are trying to tell the bishop WHY you want to be confirmed.

--       In the third paragraph, conclude anything else you need to share, then thank the bishop.

--       Close with a Salutation of your choosing, such as “Sincerely,”

--       Sign the letter.

--       Underneath your signature, type your name and return address.

* Submit your letter to the St. Clare Parish Office – do NOT mail directly to the Bishop

** Letters must be typed.
