Letter
to the Bishop
-- Date the letter.

-- Start the Letter, “Dear Bishop Braxton,”
-- In the first paragraph, introduce yourself. Tell the
bishop about who you are and why you are writing to him – to request the
sacrament of Confirmation.
-- In the second paragraph, share something about your
faith that is important to you. It could be a story, or you could tell the
bishop what is your favorite part of your Catholic faith. You are trying to
tell the bishop WHY you want to be confirmed.
-- In the third paragraph, conclude anything else you
need to share, then thank the bishop.
-- Close with a Salutation of your choosing, such as
“Sincerely,”
-- Sign the letter.
-- Underneath your signature, type your name and return
address.
* Submit your letter to the
St. Clare Parish Office – do NOT mail directly to the Bishop

Saint’s Name (ex: St. Clare of Assisi, not “Clare”) at the top left of the page
and underline it. Put your full name at the top right of the page – do not
underline your own name.
Your paper must be 3-4 pages
in length (not 2 ½ or even 2 ¾). Indent paragraphs five (5) spaces, and do not
skip lines between paragraphs. I will return unacceptable papers for revision.

Page 2 – Review the special
challenges and accomplishments your patron saint is known for. When was he/she
named a saint, by which pope (if applicable), and what is the feast day?
Page 3 – Explain why you
picked your patron saint. Why is your saint important? What about him/her do
you admire and want to imitate?

Your paper may be submitted
in paper form to the Parish Office or you may e-mail it to janeadotson@yahoo.com.
E-mail submissions must be in Microsoft Word format. Paper submissions should
have a staple in the top left corner. No covers or paperclips.

page and underline it. Put your full name underneath your Patron Saint’s name –

presentation in paper or CD form to the parish office at your oral
presentation, or you may e-mail it to janeadotson@yahoo.com.

* The use of artwork and
other creative touches are highly encouraged, but remember that this is a
presentation. Substance is still important to include in your slideshow.
** It is even more important
to know your saint well. Conversational questions will be asked.
Candidates presenting a PowerPoint slideshow may schedule their presentations
as a (small) group if they wish.
